BECOME AN ALLIANCE PARTNER

SAFE Alliance PartnerSHIP

Purpose

To prevent and combat the far-reaching impacts of trafficking and exploitation, we must bring together a diverse, multifaceted group of individuals, businesses, non-profits, government agencies, and faith communities in Santa Barbara County who are committed to the work of the Strategic Plan. These partners are committed to the movement of reducing trafficking and exploitation in Santa Barbara County — and they come from all parts of our community. If you are interested, please click on the appropriate button to begin the process of partnering with us!

The Strategic Alliance to Fight Exploitation (SAFE) Santa Barbara County is more than just a way for partner agencies to receive funding to carry out the Strategic Plan goals – it is also a component of our County’s united approach to combatting human trafficking. Becoming an Alliance Partner with SAFE is a representation of an organization’s commitment to the countywide anti-trafficking movement. Each organization might play a different role in this movement, but each recognizes their part in the greater whole as an Alliance Partner.

There are two categories of Alliance Partners: 1) Business/Individual Alliance Partners, and 2) Nonprofit/Faith Community/Government Alliance Partners.

1)    Alliance Partnership for businesses and individuals is defined as supporting SAFE Santa Barbara County’s work to combat trafficking locally by taking one or more of the following actions: 1) giving financial support, 2) hosting a gathering to promote the Alliance (SAFE), or 3) receiving anti-trafficking training and education.

2)    Alliance Partnership for nonprofits, faith communities, and government agencies is defined as joining arms with the countywide anti-trafficking movement and being movement-minded and collaborative with other members of the Alliance and Human Trafficking Task Force. Approved Alliance Partners may apply for and receive grant funding from SAFE Santa Barbara County.

Requirements

Those interested in becoming Alliance Partners to support the countywide anti-trafficking movement must complete the online application available on this page. As part of the application process, Alliance Partners provide their organization’s logo (if applicable). Once approved as an Alliance Partner, the logo can be shared on SAFE SB County’s website and Alliance Partners can share the SAFE SB County logo on their websites as well. Alliance Partnership is renewed every two years, giving each partner the opportunity to evaluate their continued commitment to the Alliance.

Nonprofit and Faith Community Alliance Partners are eligible to receive funding through SAFE SB County through completing SAFE’s Request for Proposals when it becomes available. Alliance Partnership with SAFE SB County is not a guarantee of receiving funding. Other criteria for Alliance Partners seeking funding from SAFE:

  • Sustainable: organizations that already have a solid base of support and do not rely on SAFE alone for programmatic funding, and who possess a strategic vision and commitment to the long-term work of reducing trafficking in SB County.

  • Collaborative: organizations that are committed to the broader anti-trafficking movement in SB County and experienced in working with others in achieving common goals.

  • Trustworthy: organizations with a proven track record of managing their financial resources and sound administrative oversight internally
